Overview

With today’s deal, you can leave the concrete jungle behind for the real thing on a six-night journey to Machu Picchu along the Inca Trail, including transfers, sightseeing tours and selected meals. You’ll be accompanied by an English-speaking tour guide throughout your trip, during which you’ll be comfortably accommodated in 3* hotels and lodges.

7-DAY INCA TRAIL TREK ITINERARY
Day One
Once you’ve arrived at the airport in Cusco, a tour member will greet you and take you to the hotel, centrally located in the historic district of San Blas. Take the rest of today to explore the area and acclimatise to the altitude of approximately 3400m. You’ll meet the rest of your group at 5pm.

Day Two
Today begins at Sacsayhuaman, the vast fortress built from huge stones by the Inca Empire. You’ll also visit Qenko, Tambomachay and Puca Pucara before travelling to the town of Ollantaytambo where you’ll take the train to Machu Picchu.

Day Three
After an early rise and a refreshing breakfast, you’ll ascend to the citadel Inka of Machu Picchu to watch the sun rise. Afterwards, you can choose to do an optional steep trek to the peak of Huayna Picchu. Although it is physically demanding, the impressive ruins you’ll see along the way and the views from the peak make it worth it!

Day Four
Today you’ll return to the town of Ollantaytambo via train and then you’ll continue on to Moray via car. Moray is an ancient construction designed for agricultural studies of different crops – the history and logic behind this site is fascinating! You’ll also visit the Maras Salt Mines too.

Day Five
Today you’ll visit Chinchero, the rainbow village, home to the ruins of the royal palace. This picturesque community is located on a high plateau overlooking the many snowcapped peaks of Cusco. You’ll tour to community and its main attractions before enjoying a traditional lunch and visiting the Andean Textiles Center to learn the art of Andean weaving.

Day Six
Travel to the Sacred Valley of the Inkas towards the town of Pisaq, stopping on the way to visit the animal sactuary of Cochawasi where you may be able to observe native species such as the Puma, Alpacas and Andean Cóndor. Enjoy the views from an observation point at the Urubamba River before reaching the archaeological site in the town of Pisaq. Tour the site and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure meandering through the famous craft market.

Day Seven
Spend the morning at your leisure before being transferred to the airport for your departure, or join the Amazon Jungle extension.
3-DAY AMAZON JUNGLE EXTENSION ITINERARY
Day One
After your included domestic flight from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado, you’ll take a 30 minute motorised canoe ride to the comfortable lodge accommodation situated in a conservation area of the Amazon. Enjoy an afternoon walk through jungle trails. After dinner, head back out on the boat for an evening of star-gazing.
Day Two
Spend the day exploring the jungle and enjoy a canopy walkway tour to spot monkeys, toucans and more! That evening, enjoy a nightime rainforest excursion to experience the nocturnal animals.
Day Three
Visit the Butterfly House before taking a boat ride back to Puerto Maldnado Airport.
