Departing from Dublin, you'll begin your Italian sojourn with a two or three-night stay in the capital city, Rome. Here, your base is the the charming Romoli Hotel. The hotel offers a welcoming, scenic haven sheltered just outside of the vibrant city centre, with plenty of transport links into central Rome. You'll then transfer via Rail Italia to Venice where you'll be staying at one of two comfortable hotels. Stay at the lavish Hotel Centrale for a further two or three nights. In both hotels, you'll enjoy comfortably furnished en-suite rooms with a TV and Wi-Fi. Plus, you can opt to travel the other way around, visiting Venice first and then travelling to Rome, it's up to you...

Once whisked to Venice by train (which takes approximately four to six hours), you'll adopt a very different way of Italian life. With more artistic masterpieces per square kilometre than any other city in the world, Venice is a dense haven for seekers of aesthetic beauty. Make sure you make time to enjoy a romantic gondola ride which allows you to peacefully drift through the watery channels. You can also hit the cultural high notes by taking in the mosaics of the Basilica San Marco, but don't forget to pause at an 18th century coffee house for an intense hot chocolate, of course.
