The only downside to this trip was how early the flights were - but that meant we had more time in the city, and therefore were prepared to put up with being exhausted! The hotel was excellent. The flights were on time. Another time I would not go in February or include a Monday in a short visit as many attractions and museums were closed. I love Lyon.

Hotel des Savoies - Comfortable room in a convenient location The hotel is conveniently located for the train and coach stations at Lyon Perrache. The room was comfortable enough. On the whole I didn't find Lyon the most hospitable of places, though the people running the hotel were fine. There's a supermarket on the next block up the Rue de la Charite, and lots of restaurants and bars on the large square by the station. The only real problem I encountered was that Google Maps got very confused under all the concrete of the Perrache station, so it's quite easy to take a wrong turn when you first arrive, but just give the app time to get it's bearings and it's not too much of a problem.

Hotel des Savoies - Small friendly hotel Small friendly hotel in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon. Near Perrache station, metro, 10 minutes walk from Place Bellecour. Welcome without false notes. Parking possible for 25€/day. Breakfast possible for 12€/person. Room of 9m2, clean and comfortable bedding. Towels, shower gel, hairdryer, kettle with tea and coffee available in the room. Downside: currently, there is work in the building opposite. Falling rubble at 8am would have been fine! Too bad.
